Mickey Thompson Brand Tires, Wheels, Rims made by Legendary Race Driver for all Other Drivers
Mickey Thompson wheels, rims and tires are made for a specific set of cars and trucks and designed to fit perfectly every time. Mickey Thompson gear, or MT as it is sometimes referred to, is the brain-child of a real man named Mickey Thompson who won a land speed record and loved the sport of all things, racing.
Mickey Thompson created and built the first slingshot drag racer in 1954 and had many different and exciting race cars after that, including a ‘funny car’ which had the entire shell lift up from the front to the back. He traveled the country racing and winning various races with different styles of race cars he either built or had a hand in creating.
In the MT catalog and other car shops, both in stores and online, one will find different named equipment for different kind of cars, yet the quality is always top notch from a Mickey Thompson auto part. Mickey began the ‘after market’ product line with the Mickey Thompson Performance Tires which were featured at the Indy 500 several years running. You’ll find things like the rugged ridge steering kits for Jeeps or other off-road vehicles. These parts are built tough to handle tough terrain and will not let you down when the tough get going.
Mickey Thompson was known as much for what he did on the race track in his life time and then for the way he died. He was murdered by his partner Michael Frank Goodwin who hired two thugs to shoot Thompson and his wife, Trudy as they came home from a night out.
The rugged ridge brand was conceived for off-road vehicles, although many of the tires that are designated ‘off-road’ are also certified safe for paved roadways and highways all across the country.
Mickey Thompson had already created several car parts before his untimely death. Several companies, both down the street car parts shops and Internet stores, carry the Mickey Thompson brand name that was and still is built on quality.
