No matter how good you are or think you may be at poker; you will always lose. Being a winning poker player does not mean that you are going to win every single hand that you play. It does not mean you will leave every cash game ahead, and it definitely does not mean you will never lose a hand. The best poker players in the world do not enjoy losing, but they realize that it is a part of winning. You have to lose in order to win in poker.

Losing is part of the game, and there are many reasons why you may lose at poker. You are not always going to have the best hand, and sometimes you will lose to another player who has a better hand than you. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you can move on to becoming a better player.

Even those who are accustomed to occasional loses may not be ready for a losing streak. It is important to remember that every one experiences these short-lived streaks, and they pave the way for the all-important winning streak.

The important thing is the money. If you are winning more money in the long run then you are losing, you are doing okay. Poker is one huge long ongoing game and money is the only way to keep score. As long as you are winning consistently over a long period, you can consider yourself a winning poker player.

There are a lot more of these kinds of players then ones that win ever single hand. That is because, it doesn’t happen. You have heard the saying that if poker is luck, why is the same guys always at the final table and all that. Well, the same thing goes for this; expect the opposite. If the best player wins each time; then there would only be one winner of every tournament throughout the entire WSOP each year.

Poker can be looked at several different ways depending on what the game means to you. If you just look at it like an ongoing thing versus a one time thing, you will understand the game a lot better. All of the odds and probabilities are not going to add up unless you play enough hands for them to add up. If you play only one time on any given day then who knows what will happen.

Losing is not always bad. There are some hands that you might lose, that will actually help you in the long run. Sometimes losing a hand is better then winning it. When you lose in a showdown you still get to see your opponent’s hand. Sometimes that information is more valuable then any amount that you could have won in that one hand.

Losing a hand or a game is no big deal, and it can teach you an important lesson, or it can give you insight into another player’s playing style. Use the information to your benefit and the next time you can take all his money.

As long as you take a look at the big picture you will no longer be disappointed by losing, as you will understand that it is part of winning. Trying to win all the time is a frustrating experience and can take all the excitement out of poker playing. Just relax and try to learn from each game you play, whether you win or lose, then take what you learned and apply it to your next game. Not only will it adjust your perspective, it will also make you a much better player and bring back the enjoyment of playing poker.
