Article Writing; a Great Way to Promote your Website
Veteran website owners have learned that writing and distributing articles is among the fastest and most effective means of promoting their sites. In fact, some very successful webmasters do nothing more to promote their sites than write 1-3 articles a week and submit them to article submission sites. In some instances, hundreds of webmasters seeking content will then add the articles to their sites.
There are three related benefits that accrue to article writers. First, as people continue to see their name on articles, they begin to think of them as authorities. Many very successful business people have built their reputations by writing frequent articles.
Benefit number two is that article readers will click on the link in the author’s box, resulting in immediate, increased traffic to his or her website.
The most important reason to write and distribute articles, however, is that each time a webmaster adds one of your articles to their site you pick up another link. And, the more links there are to your site, the higher your search engine ranking in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. And, if webmasters with sites on the same subject as yours carry your articles, the links you will get from their sites can be especially valuable in improving your search engine rankings. That is why it is important to write articles related to the subject of your website, although articles on any subject can be somewhat helpful in raising the profile of your site.
Be sure to compose the author’s box as carefully as your article. It should include your name, a sentence about you, and a text link, with appropriate anchor text, to your website. Note that the text links in the author’s box below use the terms most likely to be used by people searching for websites like mine.
Of course, your articles will only help promote your site if other webmasters use them. To ensure that, follow these simple tips.
1. Write articles that solve problems or give readers useful information.
2. Be certain your title creates interest.
3. Proofread. Spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors are the kiss of death. Webmasters do not wish to add articles filled with errors to their sites.
4. Be succinct. People are much more likely to read brief articles.
5. Remember who your audience is and construct your article(s) accordingly.
Don’t get discouraged if all of your articles aren’t picked up by hundreds of sites. The more you write the more you will learn about what kinds of articles are most likely to be well received. So, stay at it and you will almost surely be rewarded for your efforts.
