When one considers link building, you probably think of constant form submissions and emails. But, there are other options, and they aren’t all trying to pawn things off on others. Instead, it involves luring other sites to come to you. Of course, link baiting can’t be the sole means of link building, but it can do some of the work for you. Linkbaiting also happens to be a very natural, and easy, method of link building.

Linkbaiting is a fairly new term, but the concept of linkbaiting has been around since the beginnings of one web site making a hyperlink to another interesting informant on a different site. If your website has genuinely interesting and unique subject matter, you will eventually be linked to. It will, in turn, spread on its own to others sites.

Best Linkbaiting Techniques and Strategies: In a perfect world, your website would be creating tons of interesting content without any extra effort on your part. This is hard in some industries, however (there’s only so many people who will link to your article on kitchen sinks, for example). The trick is to frame your article in an interesting and inherently “linkable’ manner, above all making sure you create a catchy headline that draws in the reader. As opposed to normal headlines like “Various Options When Buying Kitchen Sinks,” a headline created with link baiting in mind might be called “8 Ways to Save Money on Stainless Steel Sinks.”

That headline exhibits a couple of very linkable traits. Perhaps the most important is the numbered list. As you explore link baiting further, you’ll find that an overwhelming number of popular articles are named and written in a numbered list format (alternatively, you’ll often see the “How to’ format). Both techniques are used to increase readability, linkability, and the sense that the reader has stumbled on some interesting, unique information that can be browsed quickly. In addition, the headline addresses something beneficial to the reader: how he or she can save money when buying (specifically) stainless steel sinks. Although the inclination might be to shy away from specificity to attract the greatest amount of readers, for the purposes of link building and relevance to the reader it is best to offer specific information.

Once you have created your headline, you need to market it and the link. A good place to start is social bookmarking sites. Traffic can be high within hours. If you follow all of these ideas, you will be obtaining links to your site faster than you can imagine.
